Wholesale Tiers
Wholesale tiers give a lower price per item the more a customer buys, for example Rp10,000 each, Rp9,000 each from 10 pcs, and Rp8,000 each from 50 pcs. The price changes automatically in the cart, at the POS, and on the order.
Open it from the Product form, Wholesale (tiered pricing) card. For many products at once, use the wholesale template. This feature is for Owners and Admins, and creating or changing tiers is available from the Growth plan.
Wholesale tiers launch with this release. The page may look slightly different from the description below, but it works the same way.
Setting tiers
A product can have up to 6 tiers. Each tier has:
- Minimum quantity: a whole number, at least 2. Tiers must increase (for example 10, 25, 50); no duplicate quantities.
- Type: Rp (price per item) or % (discount from the regular price, above 0 and below 100, up to 2 decimals).
- Value: the price per item or the percentage.
Checked when you save:
- the price per item cannot go up as the quantity grows;
- an Rp tier must be cheaper than the regular price.
Etalasse also shows warnings (they do not block saving):
- Below cost: the tier price is lower than the cost price. The preview shows price, percent saved, and margin for each tier, so you can see a loss before saving.
- Rp tier ignored for variants: see the next section.
- Discount beats tier: the product discount is lower than the tier price, so the tier changes nothing.
Clear all tiers and save to remove them. Removing does not need the Growth plan, so you can still tidy up after a downgrade.
Products with variants
- Percent tiers on the product apply to all variants. The base is each variant's own price.
- Rp tiers on the product only apply to items without variants, because variant prices can differ. If you save them on a product with variants, the tiers are kept with a warning but are not used for variants.
- A variant can have its own set of tiers (also up to 6, Rp or %). That set replaces the product's set for that variant.
Booking and Rental shops
Wholesale tiers do not apply to Booking and Rental shops, and the card is hidden there. In other shops, booking and rental lines are excluded from tiers.
How the tier is chosen from the cart quantity
The tier is chosen from the total quantity of that product, not per line:
- Product tiers: the quantity of that product across all lines of the cart or order, including all variants and add-on variations. Buying 6 shirts in size M and 4 in size L counts as 10.
- Variant tiers: the quantity of that variant across all lines.
- Flash sale, booking, and rental lines are not counted and never get tiered prices.
Changing the quantity in the cart recalculates the price straight away, up or down.
The total-quantity rule above applies to orders built from the cart (storefront checkout and POS orders). For orders that name their products directly, which means Create Sale in the Dashboard and buy-now in the customer app, the tier is chosen from the quantity of that line alone. So in Create Sale, put the same product on one line: two lines of the same product are not added together to reach a higher tier. ::: The price on the order matches the price in the cart. In the cart, customers see the tier in use and a hint for the next tier ("Add 12 more and the price becomes Rp8,000 each, you save Rp1,000").
How it works with discounts, flash sales, and price rules
The price order used for each line:
- Flash sale: if the line is a flash sale line, the flash sale price wins and tiers are ignored.
- Normal price: an active price rule, otherwise the product discount, otherwise the regular price (the variant price for variant lines).
- Wholesale tier: the tier price is worked out from the regular price (Rp: the value; %: regular price minus the percentage, rounded).
- The price charged is the cheaper of step 2 and step 3.
So a product discount or price rule that is already cheaper than the tier is still used, and the tier is used when it is cheaper. Tiers do not stack on top of discounts.
Because the tier is worked out from the regular price, it does not rise with a price rule that raises prices (for example Lebaran +25%). A line that qualifies pays the tier price, not the tier price plus the increase.
Coupons, tax, and service charge are calculated after the item price, as usual. Only the subtotal differs.
There is no per-shop switch to turn this off. Products without tiers are not affected at all.
The old single-tier wholesale
Products using the old fields (Wholesale on with a minimum quantity and wholesale price) keep working as before, and show on the card as tier 1 (legacy):
- the quantity is counted per line, not as a product total;
- a product discount beats the old wholesale price, and so does a price rule;
- only for items without variants;
- not limited by plan.
As soon as you save new tiers, the new tiers are used. Turn on Disable the old single-tier wholesale to also switch the old one off (its values are kept). If you delete all new tiers and the old wholesale is still on, the old tier is used again.
Wholesale template for many products
From the Wholesale page (a list of products with their tier count and source: new or legacy), pick products or a category, build the template tiers, then:
- Tap Preview: price, percent saved, and margin per product, with warnings.
- Tap Apply: up to 500 products at once. Choose whether products that already have tiers are overwritten or skipped.
The result lists the products applied and the ones skipped, with the reason. An Rp template on products with variants is saved with a warning, so use percent for products with variants. Applying needs the Growth plan.
What customers see
- Product page: a "Buy more, save more" table with quantity ranges, price per item, and percent saved. For products with variants the table follows the selected variant.
- Cart: a badge for the tier in use and a hint for the next tier.
- POS: a tier badge on the line, and the cashier sees the next-tier hint. The price always comes from the server, so it matches the order.
Plan
Creating and changing tiers and templates needs the Growth plan or higher. If the plan drops, saved tiers keep applying to customer prices, and you can still view or delete them. The old wholesale is not limited by plan.
Tips
- start with percent if your product has variants
- check the margin in the preview before saving, especially the Below cost warning
