Storefront & POS Themes

Use themes to set the look of your online storefront and your POS app. The storefront theme and the POS theme are chosen separately, so your storefront can look elegant while your cashiers keep the layout that is fastest for them.

Choose the storefront theme from the Shop Config page in the web Dashboard or from Shop Profile in the Dashboard mobile app, and choose the POS theme from the POS Config page (on the web and on mobile). Themes are free on every plan.

Theme update

This release adds the Bento POS theme and makes it the default POS theme. New shops start on Bento, and shops that used the Classic POS theme move to Bento automatically. Shops that picked any other POS theme keep it, and Classic can still be chosen at any time. There are now fifteen POS themes. The storefront themes are unchanged in this release. See POS themes.

The previous release added six storefront themes for education: Campus, Chalkboard, Notebook, Crayon, Playschool, and Academy, in a new Education group. There are now thirty-eight storefront themes in four groups: Popular, Style, Education, and Seasonal. Earlier releases brought Gallery, Spotlight, Colorblock, Fresh, Luxe, Anggun, Neon, Craft, Merdeka, Mega Sale, Noir, Neo, Marketplace, Natural, Bento, Swiss, Retro, Nusantara, Aurora, Kawaii, Terminal, Editorial, Ramadan, Onyx, Soft, Catalog, Feed, and Dynamic to the storefront and Midnight, Mono, Neo, High Contrast, Color Tiles, Aurora, Receipt, Kawaii, Soft, Catalog, and Pro to the POS. Every theme now applies to all buttons, cards, input fields, badges, pop-ups, and pages, so each theme feels truly different. Button names and screens may differ slightly from the description below, but it works the same way.

What a theme changes

A theme is more than a color. Each theme sets:

  • fonts — the typeface for headings and text
  • corners — how rounded product cards, buttons, chips, badges, and input fields are, from fully square to pill-shaped
  • spacing — how much room there is between elements, from airy to tight
  • neutral colors — the page background, card surfaces, borders, and secondary text, including dark backgrounds on dark themes
  • borders and shadows — no borders, thin borders, or thick borders, and soft or hard shadows
  • component style — for example the shape of buttons, the search field, the bottom menu, the quantity stepper, promo badges, and pop-ups
  • layout — for example the logo position in the header, the product card style, and the number of product columns

A theme applies everywhere in the storefront and the POS app, not only on the main pages. On a square theme no button or card stays rounded, and on a dark theme no surface stays white.

Your main color (Main Color) still applies on top of every theme. Buttons, prices, and other accents keep your brand color. You pick a style, and your brand color carries over automatically.

Classic is the default storefront theme. It looks exactly like Etalasse did before themes existed, so the storefront of a shop that changes nothing sees no difference.

The default POS theme is Bento. New shops start on Bento, and shops that used the Classic POS theme have been moved to Bento. If your cashiers prefer the old look, choose Classic again on the POS Config page. Shops that picked any other POS theme keep their choice.

Storefront themes

The storefront theme changes the online storefront your customers see when they browse and order products.

The storefront loads only the theme you chose, so having more themes to pick from doesn't slow your store down.

There are thirty-eight storefront themes, split into four groups so they are easy to scan. The theme picker in the Dashboard, on both web and mobile, shows the same groups:

  • Popular — all-purpose themes that suit many kinds of shops. Start here if you're not sure
  • Style — themes with a strong character for a particular type of business or brand style
  • Education — themes for schools, universities, course providers, tutoring centers, teachers, stationery shops, and school supplies for kids
  • Seasonal — themes for specific campaigns: Ramadan, Merdeka, and Mega Sale. Switch one on for the campaign, then switch back to your previous theme. See Tips for choosing a theme
ThemeBest forWhat it looks like
ClassicEvery kind of shopThe familiar Etalasse look, unchanged
BoutiqueFashion, accessories, beauty, and lifestyleElegant and airy: serif headings, a warm off-white background, and every corner square, including buttons, chips, badges, and the cart button. A centered logo in the header, uppercase section titles and main buttons, borderless product cards with a tall image and the name centered under it, underline-only input fields, and generous spacing
PlayfulFood, snacks, toys, and kids' productsRounded and friendly: very rounded cards, pill-shaped buttons, chips, and input fields, a header filled with your main color with rounded bottom corners, a background lightly tinted with your main color, soft shadows, a bold price, and a round "+" add button
ModernGadgets, electronics, and general retailClean and sharp: a pure white background, thin borders on everything, small uniform corners with no pill shapes anywhere, compact flat buttons, a left-aligned logo with an always-visible search bar, and a denser product grid (one extra column from tablet width up)
MarketplaceShops with lots of promos and discountsPacked with promos, marketplace-style: a full-width header in your main color with a white search field inside, a gray background that separates borderless cards, a dense two-column grid, a red discount badge in the top-left corner of the card, a bold main-color price with the old price struck through, and add-to-cart and buy-now buttons side by side
OnyxAny shop that wants a dark lookModern dark mode for any shop. A dark theme: a black background, dark gray cards slightly lighter than the page, white text, thin borders, and no shadows. Clean, neutral, and product-first, unlike the luxurious Noir and the console-style Terminal. Rounded product images, chips as a dark segmented control, action buttons filled with your main color and carrying an icon, white semibold prices with discounted prices in your main color, a dark header with the logo, search, and icons, and a translucent dark bottom menu with the active icon in your main color and a small dot
SoftBeauty, fashion, food, and giftsSoft, friendly, and rounded: a warm white background, very rounded white cards with no borders and a soft shadow, and pill-shaped buttons, chips, and badges. Each product card sits on a soft pastel tint that rotates through four shades derived from your main color. Categories appear as circles with a ring on the active one, section titles are friendly and bold with a "View all" pill, action buttons are pills with an icon, the bottom menu is white with a pill highlight behind the active item, and pop-ups have a very rounded top
CatalogGroceries (sembako), wholesale, pharmacies, spare parts, and corner shops (toko kelontong)A fast list-style catalog: products appear as dense rows instead of a grid. Each row has a small thumbnail, the name, the unit or variant, a stock hint (for example "Stok 12"), the price, and an add button that turns into a − 1 + quantity stepper right on the row. Rows are grouped under category headers that stay visible while scrolling, categories show as a row of chips, the search bar is large and prominent, corners are small, and the cart bar always shows the item count and the total. Made for shops with a very large number of products
FeedShops that sell on Instagram and TikTokA social-media feed: a white background and a header with the shop name in bold and icons, like a social app. Categories appear as story circles with a gradient ring in your main color. Each product is a post: a top row with the shop avatar, shop name, and category, an edge-to-edge square image, an action row (♡ to save to the wishlist, a share button, and a cart button), then the bold price and product name as the caption, plus a "Lihat detail" link. One column on phones and a three-column square grid from tablet width up, like a profile grid. The bottom menu is icons only, with a filled icon for the active item
GalleryFashion, home decor, art, and floristsAn image-first gallery lookbook: a clean white background, black text, and every corner square. Products appear in a masonry grid: photos keep their natural proportions and are staggered in two columns on phones and three to four columns from tablet width up. No card boxes, just the name and price in small type under the photo. A thin header with a centered logo, small letter-spaced uppercase section titles, and on the web storefront photos zoom in slightly on hover
SpotlightBrands with only a few products, such as skincare, perfume, and coffee beansBig alternating product stories: a light cream background, big serif headings, very rounded cards, and pill-shaped buttons. On the home page each product appears as a zig-zag spotlight row: a large image on one side, and on the other the product name in a big serif font, a two- to three-line excerpt from the product description, the price, and a single action button. The next row flips sides, and on phones the image sits above the text. Product lists stay a clean two-column grid with large images, and the header is minimal with a centered logo

RetroStreetwear and collectiblesA 90s and Y2K vibe: a light lavender background with a subtle checker pattern, thick dark borders, and hard shadows. Product cards look like old-school computer windows with a title bar in your main color, buttons look raised, promo badges are slightly tilted stickers, and the bottom menu has chunky raised buttons

Product cards have a scalloped bottom edge, section dividers are wavy lines, promo badges are ✦ sparkle stickers, the add-to-cart button has a small heart, prices sit in a rounded pastel badge, and the active item in the bottom menu is a bubble
TerminalGadgets, software, and digital goodsA dark hacker console. A dark theme: a blue-black background, light text, monospace text everywhere, small corners, dashed borders, no shadows, and your main color as the glowing accent of a terminal screen. Section titles look like command lines with a blinking cursor, buttons are uppercase inside square brackets, product cards read like code blocks with a comment line, promo badges look like [PROMO], the bottom menu uses commands such as ~/home and ~/cart, and input fields start with a $ prompt
EditorialFashion, coffee, and lifestyle storiesMagazine-style big headlines: an off-white background, big serif headings, thin dividing rules, and every corner square except chips. The header is a masthead with a big centered serif shop name and a thin double rule. The first product of each section is a large cover card with the title and price over the image, while the rest follow in two columns with captions. Section titles are in serif italics with a small uppercase label above them (for example "THIS WEEK"), secondary buttons are underlined text links, there is a single solid black action button, and the info card is styled as a pull-quote
DynamicSportswear, streetwear, gadgets, and automotiveBold, slanted, and energetic: a light gray background, bold condensed uppercase headings with a diagonal-stripe accent bar in your main color, and every corner square. Buttons, chips, badges, and title blocks are slanted parallelograms. Product images have an angled cut at the bottom-left corner, promo badges read like "NEW DROP", the header is a black bar with a slanted logo, the bottom menu is black with a slanted main-color block on the active item, and prices are big
ColorblockFood, kids' products, lifestyle, and bold brandsBold color-block sections: each home section sits on a full-width color band that rotates through your main color, a deep companion color derived from it, cream, and black. The text color on each band adjusts automatically so it stays readable. Big, wide, rounded headings, rounded white cards on the color bands, white pill chips, oversized section titles, a header in your main color, and a black bottom menu with a main-color pill on the active item
FreshGroceries, fruit, juice, and healthy foodCrisp green and fresh: a very light mint background, rounded white cards with the image on a pale green plate, and pill-shaped buttons and chips. Categories appear as round produce-style bubbles with a light green ring, "Fresh" badges carry a leaf mark, a gentle leaf-curve divider runs under section titles, the add button is a round "+" in your main color, and empty pages show a leaf motif. Leaf green is used only for decoration, while buttons keep your main color
LuxeJewelry, watches, and premium beautyIvory and gold, refined, the light counterpart of Noir: an ivory background, uppercase serif headings, and every corner square. Product images get a thin gold frame (a gold gradient on the web storefront), labels are thin and letter-spaced in uppercase, everything is centered, a small ◆ diamond divider sits between sections, and there is generous white space. Action buttons are filled with your main color or outlined in gold
AnggunModest fashion (hijab), bridal, and beautyGraceful dusty rose: a faded pink background, deep reddish-brown text, rounded cards, and pill-shaped buttons. Product images get an arch-topped frame on a soft pink plate, a lace-edge divider made of small dots, section titles in a flowing script font with a small uppercase label above them, and soft rose pill badges. Elegant and calm, unlike the cute Kawaii and the friendly Soft

Promo badges are slightly tilted rubber stamps, a hand-drawn underline runs under section titles, photos get a polaroid frame, buttons look like gift tags, and the bottom menu is a stitched kraft strip

The header has a wooden frame, promo badges are chalk-drawn rings, the bottom menu is a wooden chalk tray, and empty pages show a chalk apple
NotebookStudents, stationery shops, and school suppliesLike a page from a school notebook: a paper background with blue ruled lines and a red margin line (on the web storefront), a header with a row of spiral-binding holes, and section titles in handwriting on a yellow highlighter swipe. Product cards are index cards with a strip of washi tape on top, promo badges are slightly tilted sticky notes, and empty pages show a pencil
CrayonElementary schools, kids' books, school uniforms, and toysBright and kid-friendly: a rainbow crayon stripe under the header and above the bottom menu, white cards with thick outlines and solid shadows, and product photos on backgrounds that cycle through crayon colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). Section titles are bold with a crayon zigzag underline, promo badges are tilted star stickers, and the chunky buttons feel "pressed" when tapped

Navy and gold are used only for decoration, while buttons keep your main color

POS themes

The POS theme changes the look of the POS app your cashiers use. There are fifteen POS themes. Bento is the default POS theme and is shown first in the POS theme picker with a Default tag. The Bento POS theme is not the same as the Bento storefront theme, and the two are chosen separately.

ThemeBest forWhat it looks like
Bento (default)Every kind of shopFresh and modern, with roomy rounded cards and one-tap selling: a cool light-gray page, white cards with very rounded corners and no borders, and a clean modern font. Home opens with a hero card in your main color showing today's sales, followed by bento-style quick-action tiles. Navigation is a floating rounded tab bar with a centre "+" button for a new order. The active category is a dark pill. Product cards show the photo on a soft tint, the name, then the price and a square "+" button that adds to the cart in one tap, a dark cart bar with the item count goes straight to Pay, payment methods appear as three big tiles, and a lime accent marks small highlights
ClassicEvery kind of shopThe familiar POS look, unchanged. The default POS theme before Bento, and still available

MidnightBars, late-night cafés, and night shiftsEasy-on-the-eyes dark mode. A dark theme: dark backgrounds and panels, light text, subtle borders, and your main color stays the accent. The same number of product columns as Classic
MonoCashiers who want a simple look focused on the numbersClean black and white: every corner square, black buttons, thin lines between rows, and large numbers on totals. Your main color is used only for the pay or confirm button and for selected items
NeoTrendy cafésThick lines full of character: a cream background, thick black borders, hard black shadows, and main-color buttons with black text
High ContrastOutdoor stalls and cashiers who need larger textEasiest to read in bright light: a white background, pure black text with no light-gray text anywhere, a typeface designed for legibility, larger text and bold labels, thick black borders, and large tap areas. Selected items get a thick black outline with a yellow fill, the pay button is black with yellow text, prices are big and bold, and every icon comes with a label
Color TilesBusy F&B countersColorful tiles for lightning-fast tapping: each product appears as a tile filled with its category's color, with a big name and price and the image hidden or shrunk. Category tabs are big blocks in the same colors, so cashiers can spot a category by its color. The cart panel stays white, and the pay button is a huge block in your main color
AuroraBeauty salons and boutique cafésSoft gradients and frosted panels: a soft gradient background built from your main color, semi-transparent white panels, large rounded corners, glow shadows, a gradient pay button, and pill-shaped category tabs on a glass bar
ReceiptWarungs and classic shopsLooks like thermal receipt paper: a warm gray background, paper-colored panels with zigzag top and bottom edges, dashed separators, monospace numbers everywhere, and every corner square. Buttons are outlined in black with uppercase text. The cart panel looks like a real receipt: the shop name at the top, dashed lines, and right-aligned totals. The pay button is a black block reading "BAYAR ▸ Rp…", and product cards look like price tags
KawaiiDessert and bubble tea (boba) shopsSweet pastel and bubbly: a pastel pink background, pastel product tiles that follow your main color, very rounded corners, pill-shaped buttons, ✦ sparkle badges, a number keypad with round pastel keys, and a scalloped edge on the cart panel
SoftCafés, salons, and boutiquesSoft, friendly, and rounded: a warm white background, very rounded white panels with soft shadows, and product tiles on soft pastel tints that rotate based on your main color. Category tabs are circles or pills with a ring on the active one, the number keypad has pill-shaped keys, and the pay button is a pill with an icon. Calm and friendly
CatalogMinimarkets, pharmacies, and hardware storesA scan-first product table: the catalog becomes a table with columns for SKU or barcode, name, stock, and price, plus a "+" on each row. Zebra-striped rows, a column header that stays visible while scrolling, and a large scan and search bar at the top. The category filter is a compact dropdown or chip row, the cart is a dense list with quantity steppers, the total is a big number, and focus outlines are clear when using a keyboard. The grid view can still be chosen, but this theme shows the table by default
ProAny retail shop on a laptopA desktop-style layout: on tablet or laptop screens, category tabs become a sidebar list on the left (icon, name, and product count, with a main-color bar on the active category), the product grid sits in the middle, and the cart panel on the right, for three columns. Compact neutral grays, white panels with thin borders, small corners, small text, and tight rows. Buttons show keyboard shortcut hints: "F2 Pay" on the Confirm Order button and "/" in the search field. On the web POS, F2 confirms the order (the same as pressing the button) and / or F3 jumps to the product search. The shortcuts work in every theme; only the Pro theme shows the hints. On phones it falls back to the normal layout with the Pro styling

Dark themes

Noir, Terminal, Onyx, Neon, and Chalkboard (storefront) and Midnight (POS) are dark themes. Every page, card, pop-up, and loading animation is dark with light text.

  • your main color is still used as the accent. Pick a main color bright enough to stand out on a dark background, such as gold, yellow, or another bright color
  • in Noir, the main action button is filled with your main color and uses dark text. A main color that is too dark makes this button hard to read
  • in Terminal, your main color is the accent of the terminal screen. Bright colors such as green, yellow, or light blue are the easiest to read
  • in Onyx, your main color is used as-is when it is readable. If it is too dark, it is lightened automatically so it still shows up on the dark background
  • in Neon, your main color is the base of the glowing gradient outlines and is used for prices. Bright colors such as light blue, bright purple, or neon green stand out the most
  • in Chalkboard, text is chalk white on chalkboard green. Your main color is used for buttons, so pick one that stands out on dark green, such as yellow, orange, or light blue
  • a dark theme only changes the storefront or the POS app. The Dashboard looks the same
  • always preview a dark theme before saving, especially to check product photos with a white background

How to choose a theme

The POS theme is chosen on the POS Config page, not on Shop Config or Shop Profile. Open POS Config, click or tap the POS theme card you want, then save. Bento is shown first with a Default tag, and Classic is still in the list.

From the web Dashboard

  1. open Shop Config from the Storefront menu
  2. find the storefront theme section. Storefront themes are split into Popular, Style, Education, and Seasonal, the same as on this page
  3. each option is shown as a card with a mini preview, the theme name, and a short tagline. The mini preview uses that theme's font, corners, and background color, together with your shop's main color
  4. click the storefront theme card you want
  5. save your changes

If you change the Main Color on the same page, the mini previews on the theme cards update right away. You can try a few colors before saving.

From the Dashboard mobile app

  1. open Shop Profile
  2. find the storefront theme options. Storefront themes are grouped into Popular, Style, Education, and Seasonal, the same as on the web
  3. tap the theme card you want
  4. save your changes

The web and mobile choices are stored in the same place, so a theme you save from one also applies in the other.

Preview a storefront theme before saving

Each storefront theme card has a preview action. It opens your storefront in that theme, using your real products and main color.

  • previewing does not save anything. Customers keep seeing the active theme
  • the preview only applies to the preview page opened from the Dashboard. The storefront opened from a normal link keeps the active theme
  • when you're happy with it, go back to the Dashboard, pick that theme, and save

Tip: open the preview on a phone too, since most customers shop from mobile devices.

The POS theme applies to every cashier device

The POS theme is set per shop, not per device. Once saved, every cashier device signed in to that shop uses the same theme. The POS theme can only be changed from the Dashboard (web or mobile). In the POS app, the active theme is shown in the settings menu as read-only.

The POS color setting is still there as before. In the appearance part of the POS settings menu, a cashier can still use the Dashboard color or pick another color for that device only. That color replaces the main color on that device only. Fonts, corners, spacing, background colors, and layout still follow the shop's POS theme.

How it differs from Home sections layout

On the same page you'll also find the Home sections layout option (previously named Ecommerce Home Layout, with the options Default, V2, V3, V4, and V5). The two control different things and can be combined freely:

Tips for choosing a theme

All-purpose themes

Not sure which one to pick? Onyx, Soft, Catalog, and Feed, plus Classic and Modern, are safe choices for most kinds of shops. Pick Onyx for a dark look, Soft for a friendly feel, Catalog if you sell a very large number of products, and Feed if your customers come from Instagram or TikTok. All of these are in the Popular group.

Start from your type of business. This table is only a starting point, so compare with the preview too:

Retail on a laptopWhichever suits your productsPro
  • set your Main Color first, then compare the theme cards. The mini previews already use your color
  • for the POS, Bento (the default) is a good starting point for almost every shop, especially when cashiers work on a phone or tablet. Pick Classic if cashiers are more comfortable with the old look
  • for the POS, pick Compact if cashiers often scroll a long catalog, and Touch if cashiers work fast on tablets or touch screens
  • pick High Contrast if the cashier screen is often in direct sunlight or cashiers need larger text, and Color Tiles if cashiers need to find products as fast as possible during long queues. Color Tiles works best when your products are already grouped into categories
  • pick Catalog for the POS if cashiers scan barcodes or search for products more often than they pick from pictures, and Pro if cashiers work on a laptop or a wide screen. On the web POS, cashiers can press F2 to confirm the order and / to search products
  • for dark themes (Noir, Terminal, Onyx, Neon, Chalkboard, and Midnight), make sure your main color is bright enough. See Dark themes
  • after changing the POS theme, ask cashiers to check the look on their device with one practice order. If it hasn't changed yet, reopen the POS app
Seasonal themes

The themes in the Seasonal group are made for specific campaigns: Ramadan for Ramadan and Lebaran, Merdeka for August 17 promos, and Mega Sale for 9.9, 10.10, 11.11, and 12.12 campaigns. Switch a seasonal theme on when the campaign starts, then switch back to your previous theme when it ends. It takes one click on the theme card, then save. Your products, main color, and home layout stay the same.

  • before switching a seasonal theme on, note down the theme you are using now so you can return to it
  • open the preview before saving a seasonal theme
  • the theme doesn't switch back on its own. When the campaign is over, pick the theme you noted down again, then save
  • Mega Sale shows the text "Sale is live", not a countdown timer, so customers don't see when the sale ends
