Connect to ChatGPT

Connect your Etalasse shop to ChatGPT to ask about and manage your shop in conversation, for example: "Which orders are still unpaid since yesterday?", "Which products are almost out of stock?", or "Mark order #1042 as shipped."

What you need​

  • the owner account of an Etalasse shop (staff accounts can't connect apps)
  • a shop on the Growth plan or higher
  • a ChatGPT account that can add its own MCP servers. This is part of the paid plans and is used through ChatGPT on the web. On work accounts (Business, Enterprise, Edu), your workspace admin may need to allow it first.

Add Etalasse in ChatGPT​

If Etalasse appears in ChatGPT's app list, pick it there and continue at step 4. Otherwise, add it manually:

  1. Open ChatGPT in your browser (chatgpt.com). If asked, turn on Developer mode in Settings.
  2. Open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), click the + button and choose Add custom MCP server.
  3. Enter the name Etalasse, the URL https://mcp.etalasse.com/mcp, and choose OAuth for authentication. Read the warning, accept it, and save.
  4. When ChatGPT asks you to connect your account, the Etalasse Dashboard's Connect an AI app page opens.
  5. If you're already signed in to the Dashboard, check the shop name and email, then tap Allow. If not, sign in as usual (email, Google, or 2FA when it's on) and you come back to this page. Want a different account? Tap Use another account.
  6. With 2FA on, enter the code from your authenticator app before tapping Allow.
  7. You're sent back to ChatGPT. Start a new chat, type @ and pick Etalasse.

ChatGPT's menu names and locations change fairly often. If what you see is different, check the Developer mode guide in the OpenAI Help Center.

Read-only?

On some ChatGPT plans, added MCP servers can only read data. If ChatGPT can show your orders but can't change stock or status, that's a limit of your ChatGPT plan, not of Etalasse.

What ChatGPT can do​

  • read orders, products, stock, customers, bookings, promotions and sales reports
  • make changes when you ask, such as stock, prices, order status, products, categories and promotions. ChatGPT asks you to confirm before it makes a change.

What this connection can't do:

  • see or change your password
  • issue refunds, withdraw your balance, pay sellers or pay for a subscription. These stay in the Dashboard.
  • act as a shopper in your online store

Every action applies only to the shop of the account you allowed.

Disconnect​

Open Settings › Access Tokens in the Dashboard and revoke the ChatGPT token. Its name ends in (connector), for example ChatGPT (connector). ChatGPT loses access right away. You can also remove Etalasse from the Plugins settings in ChatGPT.

Data and privacy​

ChatGPT only receives the shop data asked for in the conversation, through the tools you allowed. Etalasse doesn't read your ChatGPT conversation history. The full details are in the Privacy Policy, in the section on AI apps you connect.
